Description |

The
Blue Pool was a Former clay pit dug
in about 1840,
production continued until all the usable clay was taken out.
The clay was used to make tobacco pipes and fine china for such
famous names as Wedgwood, Minton and Royal Worcester.
The
Blue Pool’s colour is actually caused by
the fine clay in suspension in the water.
The Pool is surrounded by 25 acres of heath woodland interlaced with
sandy paths. There is also a museum that records the history of clay production
in the area.
