Hamble-le-Rice is a lovely maritime village with excellent views from the quay over the Hamble River and marinas. During the summer months, the river is a hive of activity and this culminates with the annual regatta, known as 'Hamble Week', which takes place in the first week of July.
Locally known as Hamble, it is one of the main yachting centres on the south coast. The quay is an ideal place to sit and watch the world go by.
On the quay there is a ferry service across the river to Warsash andboat trips up the river to Bursledon where the BBC television series Howards Way, was filmed in the late 1980s. Close by, at the back of Hamble Green there is an excellent path following the creek down to Hamble Point, where the River Hamble meets the Southampton Water. It's about a 15 minute walk.
