Roydon Woods
  Description
Roydon Woods is a mixture of woodland, pastures, ponds, heaths and river. Roydon Woods in spring is carpeted by bluebells, in the summer months nightjars frequent the heathland, while autumn is the time to search for fungi which grows in abundance and in winter large numbers of fieldfares and redwings can be seen feeding on the hawthorn berries.

The woodland is home to two rare species of butterfly; the White Admiral and Pearl-bordered Fritillary and to three species of deer; the Fallow, Roe and Sika.

Roydon Woods covers and area of 950 acres and is owned by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust
